Harry earned a PhD in Economics from Princeton University in 2001 and has worked as a professor at the University of Toronto since that time.  His research is primarily focused on the application of statistical methods to different topics in labour economics, including: wage losses through job loss, wage inequality, the determinants of earnings in both private-sector and self-employed work, the impact of disability on employment and earnings, and the effect of education on various outcomes such as income, fertility, and longevity/mortality.  He has also done research on political issues in both Canada and the United States, including voting participation as well as the determinants of voting preferences.  Harry has also co-authored several reports for both the Canadian federal government and the Ontario provincial government on matters relating to the labour market.

In addition to his research, Harry has won numerous teaching awards at the University of Toronto, including Professor of the Year in the Rotman School’s Global Executive MBA program.
